[Reading Reflection]Create Inspired Results: Focus on What You Want to Create
In today's occupation by many electronics and technologies, people's average focus span has been shorter and shorter. Being focus is hard, not to mention the chance of focusing on the negative aspects.
The blog post starts the introduction talking about the possible focus: some people focus on the past while some on the future. Even for those who focus on the future, some would focus on the "will be" part, but the powerful focus shall be on the "is" part.
I remembered in my general study class in college, professor was giving the explanation about how certain cultures look backward but some look forward. In the post, looking backward is considered negative because we can't change what happened. This is what I think, think about history, why do we study history, especially politicians and militaries? That's because there are values and lessons in the past. The point should be "don't focus on the past too much."
Shortly after the introduction came about the four strategies to help focus on the positive future. I personally haven't thought of these methods; therefore my thoughts and comments are more theoretical than experience talking.
In short summaries, the visualization is imaging the "already have" about the wanted future. The coloring, which sounds a little odd, is sort of turning the visualization from a view in the head to a view on a physical page. Affirmation, is heard in a different situation, is a very simply tool to keep the focus stay right on the spot. Vision board to me is like a completed coloring page.
This post is very positive and sounds very amazing. I am hoping this would help, for that I am setting a small goal this year and test these out.
